Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Marleen’s life has continuously been creative in a variety of forms. Starting with Art lessons at Hamilton Art Gallery at the age of 8, then textile and industrial design to most recent watercolour classes at Grimsby Art Gallery, she expresses her craft and passion in a vast array of mediums.

What has been gaining notoriety for Marleen are her signature acrylic painting, pen and wash and primarily “plaster on canvas” creations.

While working in North Bay, Marleen became inspired by this dynamic art- form in 2009. She learned this complex, ever evolving at times temperamental process and has developed her own “Plaster on Canvas” signature.

Her artwork ranges from abstract concepts and real world depictions, many inspired by the beauty of Northern Canada.
